Ennui
A Story of Sorts
(2002, 270 pgs.)
Ennui is a novel about the lives of many different people living in a little city that wears a big shrug. What’s more is they all share a common theme in their lives: abject boredom. A third perspective, assumed to be the collaborative narrators, go through the lives of each character, and act as a chorus for their graces and pitfalls. Ennui offers the reader a whimsical insight into the somewhat comical lifestyle of modern American culture.
