“Just One To Four Cigarettes Daily Triples Risk Of Dying Of Heart Disease Or Lung Cancer”

Ok so I got this problem with smoking… I didn’t always used to do this, but ever since I quit I’ve become kind of obsessed with how some of my friends still smoke even though they know the terrible things that come of it. It’s been almost 4 years since I’ve had a smoke, but I think about it every now and then, what it’s like to puff on a smoke, etc/etc.

I suppose you could say that even though we know the dangers of drinking we still do it; or even though we know the dangers of not investing/saving money/going to university/giving back blah blah blah — how although we’re aware of such things we tend to ignore them anyway. Nonetheless, it doesn’t stop me from messing with my smoker friends…they know who they are.

“I don’t know what makes someone hip. The goal is artist achievement and the best work we can do with no limitation.” – Rick Ruben

Someone asked me the other day, what makes a person hip (as if I knew…). I took some thought on it, and then remembered what my friend Amber once told me while we were living in Brooklyn, “It’s like Kerouac said, ‘Hipsters have all the right looks, but none of the right moves.’” Or something like that. I don’t even know if that was actually even Kerouac, but it doesn’t fucking matter because it stuck in my mind ever since.

“So, that’s bread, milk, asparagus, yogurt, milk..no already said that…peanut butter…sigh..FML”

Well things could be a lot worse, but I think I’ve made some questionable life-choices with some of my ink. Not that I regret anything because that would be LAME. But…I do believe and will firmly stick to this: Never try giving yourself your own tattoo if you don’t know how to use the damn gun. Not only is it too fun, but it’s also permanent.

“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the
fight in the dog.” – Mark Twain

Is it me or does this guy look like he’s faking it?

I’ve only been in a few fights in my life, and have never really enjoyed it to the extent of that of people that live for fighting. In one instance, I was beat up. In the other instance I was beat on. There’s a big difference here. And in another instance I made her say, “STOP!”

stupid kids

“Teens are waiting longer to have sex than they did in the past. Some 13% of females and 15% of males aged 15-19 in 2002 had had sex before age 15, compared with 19% and 21%, respectively, in 1995.” – Abma JC et al., Teenagers in the United States: sexual activity, contraceptive use, and childbearing, 2002, Vital and Health Statistics, 2004, Series 23, No. 24.

The kids these days remind me of super-beings, capable of doing things better, faster, and more efficiently than I ever did as a kid [kid = 18<22]. I don’t know if it’s just the cool kids on campus or that I am old, or that I am just making this shit up in my head. But, there are times where I wish that I hadn’t had to grow up so fast.
